Dunbar Coastguard responded to a request for assistance yesterday evening (25th June 2025) following a fall along the coast near Cockburnspath resulting in a casualty evacuation. If you need assistance or see somebody in trouble along our coastal areas call 999 and ask for COASTGUARD.
Our Minute Secretary is moving on! So we have a vacancy. This is a renumerated position paying a fair rate for around 40 hours per annum to support and attend our 9 meetings.

Route
The Oldhamstocks Flower Show Hill run route is 6.5km long with around 200m of climb. The route is beautiful and follows a circular route from and back to the church at Oldhamstocks. The majority of the route is on a rough track, there is 1.5k on tarmac at the start on a quiet country road. The last 200m are also on tarmac.
Oldhamstocks is a small village in the Lammermuir hills close to Dunbar,use postcode TD13 5XN
Start time 12 noon.
The Start is opposite the church in Oldhamstocks, very close to the village hall.
The event is open to runners aged 15 years or over on the day of the race. Under 18’s must have parental consent.
Registration
Race Numbers will be issued from 11.00 on the day of the race, registration is at Oldhamstocks Village Hall close to the start. Runners may collect their Race Number up until 15 minutes before the start. Race Numbers are not exchangeable and no-one will be allowed to run without one. Race entry will be available on the day at a cost of £7.00 (cash only)
Health and Safety
Route maps will be posted at Registration. The route will be marked with small flags/tape. The majority of the route is on a rough track. The start and finish are on a minor road. One section of the route is steep. Key gates will be marshalled. All the organisers are volunteers, be kind to them. If you retire from the race please tell a marshall before you head home.
In line with Scottish Hill Runner’s policy no walking poles or sticks to be used.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded on the day to the first male, first female, first male veteran (over 40), first male veteran (over 50) , first female veteran (over 40), first female veteran (over 50), first Junior male, first junior female (Juniors are U18 on the day of the race). Full results will be available on the Oldhamstocks Village website.
Flower Show
The flower show opens at 13:30 so we hope that runners will stay to have a look at the exhibits, have some afternoon tea, watch the dog show etc. There are also children’s sports and a tug of war. Full details on the Oldhamstocks flower show Facebook page.
Facilities
Car parking is available along the sides of the road coming into the village.
Toilet facilities are available in the village hall. There are no shower facilities. There will not be any water stations on the course.
