Thanks to Jim Logan and his staff for their time. Also a survey of gravestones in 1975 and an update in 2015 by Shiela Petrie and Joy Dodd on behalf of the Scottish Genealogy Society (marked with an *). Thanks to Shiela for sharing the results.

In some cases it was not possible to obtain the inscription and therefore it was obtained from "Oldhamstocks Churchyard & Dunglass Collegiate Church Monumental Inscriptions" compiled by Sheila Petrie and Joy Dodd and published by the Scottish Genealogy Society. This was first completed in 1975 and updated in 2015. The inscriptions used are indicated with an asterisk*.

Thanks to Sheila Petrie for donating a copy of the booklet to the village.

Unfortunately many of the older monuments have fallen over, broken, become weathered or otherwise are illegible. Some have been moved and stored against the outer walls. Below are some of those monuments.

The Watch House was built in 1824 for Mrs. Agnes Moore, third wife of the Rev Robert Moore. A plaque over the door reads "And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes...shall be holy unto the Lord; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever."

This is taken from Jeremiah 31:40 - "And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever."
